Rwanda Safaris

Day 1 (Transfer from Air port to your hotel)
Morning arrival or mid afternoon arrival into Kanombe International Airport at Kigali. Our representatives will meet you and transfer on a lovely 2.5 hour drive through winding roads to the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 (Gorilla trekking)
With gangers, guides and security personnel. Start the days gorilla trekking in the parc des volcans. The trek ends approximately one hour after viewing to return for lunch, dinner and overnight at Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge.

Day 3 (Gorilla trekking)
The second day of gorilla trekking this time to  a different group of Mountain gorillas maximizes the viewing and photographic opportunities. After the trek, drive to Kigali at leisure and check in into the Hotel Des Mille Collines for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 (Genocide memorial- Airport)
Morning optional visit of the Genocide Memorial & Transfer to Airport for departure.
This safari includes;

Day 1 (Transfer from the Air port to your hotel)
Arrival at the Kanombe International airport Kigali or start from your Kigali overnight Hotel for your safari to Nyungwe forest. Your trip takes you through some of the most magnificent scenery before getting to Nyungwe for Overnight and dinner at the Gisakura Guest House.

Day2 (Nyungwe-golden monkey tracking)
Start your Golden Monkey Safari in Nyungwe forest with ranger guides to spend the morning trekking in the forest in search of Black and White Colobus, Golden Monkeys and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House. 

Day 3 (Nyungwe- chimp tracking)
Rise early in the morning before starting your morning Chimpanzee trekking safari in Nyungwe. Later In the afternoon, the drive gets you to Kibuye reaching before dark for dinner and overnight at Kibuye Guest House.

Day 4 (To Gisenyi)
Morning at leisure before driving to Lake Kivu getting there in the early afternoon. Meals and overnight at the Kivu Sun in Gisenyi.

Day 5 (Gorilla tracking)
Your gorilla safari starts early hiking through the Volcanoes in search of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Approximately one hour of viewing the gorillas, you have your picnic lunches in the forest before heading to the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Day 6 (Transfer to the Air port)
The gorilla safari ends with a 2 hour drive to Kigali to catch your homeward flight

Day 1 (Transfer from Air port to your hotel)

Day 2 (Gorilla tracking)
Have an early morning breakfast and ready to trek the Gorillas in the park. Depending on the level of fitness, you may be asked to choose the group you wish to trek and the closest being about 2 hours or even a couple of minutes from the park boundary meals and overnight at the Mountain Gorilla lodge.

Day 3 ( Dian fossey)
Morning breakfast and hike the famous dian Fossey research centre and grave yard where he spent close to 20 years habituating, studying and conserving the endangered mountain Gorillas and overnight at the Mountain Gorilla nest Hotel.

Day 4 (Nyungwe forest- monkey tracking)
Have an early morning breakfast then transfer to the Nyungwe forest which contains a variety of habitats including montane forests, bamboos, grasslands, swamps and bogs and is very mountainous too. And provides some of the Golden monkeys trekking experience in East Africa. Meals and Overnight at Gisakura guest House.

Day 5 (Chimp tracking)
Early breakfast before starting the morning chimpanzee trekking expedition in the forest in search of colonies of habituated Golden monkeys and other wildlife which include  Grey cheeked Mangabey, blue monkey, l hoest monkey, Angolan colobus monkey and Owl faced colobus monkey meals  and overnight at Gisakura Guest house.

Day 6 (Genocide Memorial Centre)
Morning at leisure drive to the genocide memorial centre where thousands of Tutsis and the moderate Hutus can be seen. Dinner and Overnight at Milles Collines hotel.

Day 7 (Transfer to the Airport)
Morning breakfast and transfer to the airport for departure flight.

Day 1 (Transfer from the Airport to your hotel)
Arrival and transferred to Kigali town for check in  Dinner and overnight  at Mille Collines Hotel.

Day 2 (Nyungwe forest)
Breakfast at leisure before heading to the Nyungwe Forest on an easy 260 Kms transit. Attractions along the way include the National Museum of Butare and the Genocide Memorial of Murambi. After lunch in Butare, your Rwanda tour gets you to the Gisakura Guest House for dinner and overnight.  

Day3  (Monkey tracking)                                                                                                                                     An early start in this equatorial forest teeming with wildlife yields colonies of the Black and White Colubus and the habituated colonies of Golden Monkeys. After the morning forest safari, we return for lunch and have the evening at leisure before dinner and overnight at the Gisakura Guest House.

Day 4 (Chimp tracking)
A very early morning start for the Rwanda Chimpanzee tour. The guides will be tracking a troop of habituated Chimps. We return for lunch then take a leisurely four hour drive through some magnificent scenery on the way to Bethanie Guest House.  Meals and overnight will be had here.

Day 5 (Gorilla trekking)
The Rwanda Gorillas in the mist tour starts this day by driving up the Volcanoes headed for Kinigi on winding roads. Have lunch in Gisenyi before driving through some beautiful scenic points before heading up into the Volcanoes for dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorilla’s Nest Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 (Gorilla trekking)
Morning breakfast before assembling at the Park offices for registration. The Gorillas in the mist tour starts here after a briefing by the Ranger Guides. Later, the gorilla tour which involves some strenuous trekking takes another couple of hours before a gorilla group is finally encountered. The Gorillas will be viewed for a proximately one hour before heading back to the Hotel for lunch. Evening is free to explore the nearby villages on foot or by safari vehicle before returning for dinner and overnight at the Mountain Gorillas Nest Lodge.

Day 7 (Dian Fossey research centre)
This morning, the guides will be ready to start early for the Full day visit to the Karisoke Research Centre established by the famous Dr Dian Fossey. The Movie “Gorillas in the Mist was shot here on Location” and Graves of Dian Fosse’s together with her once beloved  Mountain Gorillas can be visited here. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the Mountain gorilla’s Nest Lodge.

Day 8 (Transfer to the Air port)
Depending on the departure time of your flight, you will descend from the Gorilla Mountains to Kigali on a nice winding road taking approximately two hours to the airport for your flight out marking the end of the Gorillas in the Mist tour to Rwanda.
